NaNoWriMo = National Novel Writing Month is a world-wide event run every November. Camp NaNo is held every April and July as an additional challenge for the writers that want to set their own creative goal.
July snuck up on me. Another nano challenge awaits! Thankfully, I’ve already been working on a project so I’m hoping that nano will only help in getting it done.
This camp my goal is to write at least 20,000 words toward my ongoing project Medium of Eidolon Falls.
Current status: First draft finished. After major brainstorming, I’ve only begun working on the second draft, which includes massive revisions of the global story.
Words written:
23,414
Goal: 20,000

Not a very strong start. I haven’t caught my groove yet. Likely because I’m rewriting the beginning and still trying to anchor myself in this alternate version of the story. I think I’m going to have to skip some parts to get to the parts I can write right now.

I’ve decided to skip the chapter I was stuck on and continue the other ones. I feel good about this progress and I feel good about this book. It’s coming together nicely. Let’s go, go, go!

Milestone, baby. Just crossed 10k and that’s pretty cool. We’ll see how much I can write this month.
I think I got over the block and the words flow easier.

Wow. I didn’t realize so much time has passed. I finally got over the chapter that was bothering me. I hope that going forward, words will move smoother than they have.
One cool thing: I’ve got a new name for the town: Eidolon Falls.

Camp goal met (20k) and milestone, baby.
The story flows much better when I’m not writing scenes in order but just based off of ‘what if’ ideas, so right now I’m playing around with them, trying to see where they’ll lead. Hopefully, they’re not a waste of time and I can use them.

Let’s celebrate!!! This was a good camp. I wrote a total of 23,414 words and got a good chunk of the book done. Of course, I’ve only scratched at the surface, but I feel good about the progress.
Till next NaNo!
